CMD O/S of 2.5 story wood frame heavy fire showing from B/C corner, requesting all hands placed in service. Additional working fire box struck bring additional companies from Thorofare, East Greenwich, and Gibbstown along with Woolwich for the RIC. County FM o/s for the investigation. Exterior operations were placed in service due to the condition of the dwelling, ladder pipe placed in operation, along with heaviest water lines.

Medic 15 arrived with a SEPTA trolley vs. a mini van with 1 person trapped and 4 injuries. Requested Rescue 1 to go into service along with another medic unit. Rescue 1 extricated the victim in 10 mins. Medic 15 transported the victim to Hahnemann as a Trauma alert. Philly PD and SEPTA officials are investigating.

Companies were dispatched to 41st and Chestnut for a reported building fire. Companies arrived to find a 1 story sewage facility with smoke in the area. Crews gained entry to find no fire. Command reported reports of a dwelling fire one block away at 2533 42nd St. Command arrived and reported a 1 1/2 story single family dwelling with smoke showing from the 1st and 2nd floors. The All Hands box was struck. The 1st in Engine Company led off with a 1 3/4" hand line. Two minutes later a Mayday was called. Command reported the attack crew operating in the basement called for the Mayday. Companies had removed the firefighter from the dwelling An additional Truck and Engine were added above the all hands. At the 10 minute mark Command reported crews had 3 1 3/4" hand lines in operation with heavy smoke and heat conditions. Command reported a basement fire with extension to the 1st and 2nd floors. Searches were negative after initial reports of possible occupants still inside. The fire was knocked down and placed under control in 20 minutes. Two firefighter sustained minor injuries.

CMD O/S reporting 5 story masonry building with heavy fire showing from the number 3 floor of a Multiple Family Dwelling, requesting second alarm for manpower and numerous victims trapped. All hands place in service. Numerous BLS added for evacuation. Rescues made from aerial units. County Fire Marshal o/s for investigation. Primary and Secondary searches negative, all victims accounted for.

Quint-27 arrived on scene with fire showing from a second floor porch of a two story dwelling. Crews contained the fire to the porch area with minimal extension.
MVC w/ Entrapment - West Collingswood Hgts

At 12:26 hours on August 20, 2010, Squads 1-1 and 45 were dispatched to the 800 block of Black Horse Pike for a MVA with entrapment. When 101 arrived, he advised Camden County that two occupants were still in the vehicle and the driver would needed be extricated. A third passenger had removed himself from the vehicle prior to FD arrival. 101 also noted that the incident to be on the West Collingswood Heights side of the pike. Station 15-2 was then dispatched. Squad 1-1 arrived, stabilized the vehicle and set up a hoseline for suppression while BLS assessed the passengers. Squad 45 arrived and assisted Audubon with extrication operations. BLS removed the passenger in the front seat and transported to the hospital. Crews utilized a ram to displace the dashboard which the driver was pinned beneath and hydraulic cutters for removal of the driver-side rear door as well as the "B" post so EMS could access and remove the patient. The driver was extricated within 15 minutes from arrival of Squad 1-1. FD cleared from the scene at 13:14 hours. For more pictures and info see http://www.mefd.org/

Chief-11 arrived on scene reporting smoke showing from the 2nd floor of S/F/D. E82 AOS dropped a 5” supply line to side A and went into service with 1.75 waterline. E14 and L11 assisted with ventilation and overhaul. Medic 143 transported 1 FF to Lower Bucks Hospital for observation of heat exhaustion. FM225 is handling the investigation. American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the homeowner.

Battalion 2 reported heavy fire conditions upon arrival with exposures involved. The 2nd Alarm was transmitted. Companies set up for defensive operations as 5 two story wood frames were heavily involved. 2 Ladder Pipes and multiple 2 1/2" hand lines were placed in operation. By the 1 hour mark the fire was placed under control. 1 Captain and 1 Firefighter were transported to near by hospitals for minor injuries.

Deputy 2 special called 2 additional engines and 1 additional ladder above the box. At least 10 homes were damaged in the fire. Deputy 2 used all hands. The fire is suspicious in nature. FM on location.

Originally dispatched as an alarm system Deputy 5 arrived on location with smoke showing and the call was upgraded. Deputy 5 had fire in the attic of a large 6100 sq. ft. single family dwelling. Many additional Co.'s were added to the assignment throughout the incident an after extensive efforts the fire was brought under control at 13:19 hrs.
